After my graduation I joined Ninjacart’s HR department as an Associate Recruiter. Although I learned a lot about the hiring processes, I knew I had a different calling. So, I requested the management to move me to Supply Chain Management.
Initially, my work revolved around hiring new talent for Ninjacart in campus recruitment drives. But since I graduated with a Mechanical specialization, I wanted to work in Supply Chain. The management listened and gave me an opportunity to work in Chennai FC Operations as an executive; it was during the first phase of the lockdown. Despite hurdles such as police interference and searching for a place to stay, I learned Inventory Management, ensured on-time dispatches, quality control and regular operations. It was a completely different experience for me.
It doesn’t matter if you are experienced or a fresher; Ninjacart presents you with opportunities that serve as great learning experiences. It demands such rigour and diligence that you gain an experience of 5 years in one. Your colleagues always support you in your job.
After Chennai FC, I moved to the experimental e-commerce project in which we dealt with external vendors, too. I took care of Inventory-planning, Vendor & Labour management which helped me understand the business. Later, we began a new e-commerce project for which I moved back to Bangalore. After training, we set it up in Hyderabad. This project was a real test of perseverance and grit. Often, I’d have to sleep in the FC! The hard work eventually paid off and we were shipping 450 orders per day! The management asked me to set up the same in Delhi. We faced the challenge of training the new hires. Yet, we set it up and scaled it to profit. Post that, I was called back to Bangalore, where I was part of the standalone project. Currently, I’m working on the Western CC Infinity project.
Ninjacart has taught me a lot. I learned so many useful skills working here that were not taught to me in college. I feel confident in my abilities and ready to take on bigger responsibilities.
Before I joined Ninjacart, I didn’t know how to use MS Excel but now I’m adept at it. Starting out in HR and then moving to Supply Chain gave me experience in both the corporate and the grassroot level. My growth as an individual and a professional was put on a fast track. I feel I’ve gained 5 years of experience in just one year. It has been a thrilling experience.
