Coming from a farmer’s family, I greatly value farming. After graduation, I was drawn towards Ninjacart as it operates in the same industry. One important skill I learnt here was the knack for communication with customers, which I will cherish for a lifetime.
I joined Ninjacart in 2019 as an MDC executive. This was my first job and a completely new experience. Initially, my KRA was to search for MDC storing facilities, setting them up, and finding customers. Being in a client-facing role, the experience taught me many skills, which helped me later in executing different responsibilities. Later, I took on many roles; setting up MDCs in Chennai, managing the returns, and working on the LML auto project. In only 6 months, I was promoted to Cluster Manager. Currently, I’m working on the Flipkart project which is a B2C business. Since the final consumers expect premium quality, we ensure that the produce is delivered in pristine condition. My previous experience with customers is coming in handy now.
Understanding your customer is very important. I make sure that quality-checks, batching & grading, and packing is done according to the customers’ requirement. Special care is taken so that the SKUs are dispatched and delivered on time.
I remember working on the Offline store project in Bangalore, which was also a B2C business. I took the responsibility for the operations & sales, and training executives for 5 shops in my cluster. We learned a lot from this experience. Unfortunately, our MOCs were negative, so we had to close it down in 6 months. Later, when I started work on the Flipkart project, we took care that the produce we sold was of superior quality only. We created 5 CCs and procured the produce directly from farmers instead of vendors. This move helped us bring returns down to 1 ton from 10 tons. We brought the MOC to positive. We had started with 5 stores, but now we’re operating 15 stores in Bengaluru.
Ninjacart is the kind of place where you grow and learn. What I like the best is that you always have the support of the manager and your team. A major change I’ve noticed in myself is that I became more responsible, overcame my shyness, and got better at communicating.
As a student, I’d often get careless and be unbothered about my responsibilities. But, after I joined Ninjacart, I’ve learned to be responsible and value my time. Being punctual is one of the best habits you can have. My parents are very proud of my journey so far. I have struggled a lot to be where I am, therefore I’m conscious about the new trainees that join me. I advise them to dedicate themselves to the work and they will receive limitless opportunities to grow and learn in this organization.
